ABSTRACT
The objectives of this research work is to know the level of discrepancy existing between the data collected on live birth and still birth.
This project has been able to show the relationship that exist between live birth and still birth.
The chi- square analysis shows that there is significance difference between live birth and still birth.
The increase in birth rate is very high compare to the death rate in Lagos University Teaching Hospital.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
Natural phenomenon or other human activities are subjected to measurement and without data there is nothing to be measured.
The purpose of transforming the data to information is what is called statistics. Statistics can be defined as the scientific method of collecting organizing, summarizing and presenting of data and making reasonable inferences on the basis of such analysis.
Fertility is conventionally measured as the frequency of both in affecting the death of female in a population
Recently, attention is paid to the study of the forces that diminished or
Reduces the population of an area. E.g. (force of mortality) and investigation on the determinates of disease in such area.
However the researcher or writer of the research work intended to carry out investigation on demographic measure on health at Lagos university teaching hospital (LUTH) as a case study.
The report of this research or project work will help in formulating and implementation of health related policies most especially on death rate ( still birth).
1.1 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
i. To take a close look at the no of live births and still births in Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, Lagos state within a period of ten years (10) and also examine the relationship between live and still birth during that period.
ii. To find out the degree of association/Relationship between live birth and still birth.
iii. To find out the main causes and way to prevent still birth.
Iv. To carryout statistical test in order to determine whether there are significant between live births and still births.
V. Lastly to compute the rate of some demographic measure at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba, Lagos state.
